The Space Resources Course is organized by the Colorado School of Mines, the International Space University and the Luxembourg Space Agency.
This course provides a broad overview of the space resources field, including the current knowledge of available resources in the Solar System, identification, collection, extraction, processing, and utilization systems under development, economic and technical feasibility studies, legal and policy issues, and space exploration architectures and commercial ventures that may be enabled by utilizing extraterrestrial resources in the near future.
At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify types, technology components, and potential customers of space resources
- Explain the state of space resources exploration, availability, and technologies associated with their identification, recovery, extraction, processing, and utilization
- Assess current technological, economic, and policy challenges in space resources
- Compare and contrast methods of space resource utilization
- Analyze technological solutions, economic models, and policy positions in space resources
- Create a space resources utilization plan that incorporates knowledge of resources found in space, the technologies needed to extract and process them into useful products, and the customers of these products
Situated in the heart of the Kirchberg district, the four rooms of the Conference Centre and the 30 rooms of the Training Centre offer an exceptional environment, with more than 6,500 m2, for conferences, training sessions, business meetings and receptions. Easily accessible by car (underground car park) and public transport, the Conference Centre and the Training Centre are close to the city centre, the airport, hotels and the principal motorway links.
Fitted with state-of-the-art teaching equipment (projectors, screens, translation booths, etc.), the rooms offer every facility required for successful business gatherings and are able to accommodate groups of all sizes. Organizers have the choice of arranging for lunch, buffet and cocktails to be served in one of the rooms of the Chamber of Commerce. The main lobby at the Conference Centre, the cafeteria all welcome visitors between business meetings and training sessions.

500€ (US$550), which includes the course fee, all course materials, all lunches, and a reception.
The following cancellation policy applies:
A cancellation fee of 100€ will not be refunded nor deferred for a next program when the cancellation occurs less than 10 working days prior to the start of the program, unless there is a valid reason, as listed below, in which case the above policy will apply.
Valid reasons accepted by ISU for cancellation of participation: Medical issues, Family death, Visa issues, Job issues.
