The Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle is a Lockheed Martin built spacecraft intended to carry a crew of four astronauts to deep space destinations such as the far side of the Moon, asteroids and eventually Mars, and return them safely back to Earth.

As it is now a tradition, a combined ceremony took place at the International Space University (ISU) Central Campus on 8 September 2016. A majority of the Master of Space Studies Program, MSS16 class graduated (two cum laude). A number of students are still completing their internships and will graduate in December 2016.

On 1 September 2016 ISU’s Space Studies Program, SSP16, was successfully closed at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, in Haifa. SSP16 director John Connolly received the traditional SSP poster signed by all the participants at this occasion.

Using a high-altitude balloon, the SSP16 participants managed to launch a quadcopter drone at an amazing altitude of 27.3 km, with several ISU payloads onboard. The drone was recovered after one week in the ocean, off the coast of Haifa, Israel where this year’s SSP is taking place.
