All members of the French chapter of the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) are convinced that start-ups and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) have a key role in shaping the future of space. Hence, they decided to organize this year’s French SGAC event around the following discussion:
What is the role of business in the future of the space sector and how can we foster space-related entrepreneurship?
There is no better place than the International Space University (ISU) Central Campus, in Strasbourg, the capital of Europe, to hold this meeting!
To encourage entrepreneurship and grow the Space Economy, ISU teaches space management and business in all its programs. ISU also hosts an in-house space start-up incubator at its ISU Central Campus starting with pre-incubation and incubation, with support from ESA BIC & local funding (Eurometropolis of Strasbourg). ISU launched also recently a unique research center, the Space Policy and Entrepreneurship Lab (SPEL) that is addressing the issues and trends in the domains of space policy and the space economy, including NewSpace worldwide. It serves as a global hub for space policy and entrepreneurship to facilitate international research on these topics involving academics, professionals from space agencies and industry, and students from ISU worldwide. Its objective is also to train and educate the workforce of tomorrow on those topics.
Nicolas Peter, head of the ISU SPEL and coordinator of ISU international relations is co-organizing this event with SGAC:
“ISU and SGAC have a long history of cooperation. We are looking forward to working with SGAC France to help the NewSpace economy to grow”.
The event will be the opportunity for almost 100 students and young professionals (from 18 to 35 years old) traveling to Strasbourg to familiarize themselves with ISU, its facilities, its programs, its activities linked to entrepreneurship, and its diverse and passion-driven community.
This one-day event entitled “SG[France] 2022: Road to NewSpace” will be held on Saturday 4th June 2022 at ISU Central Campus located in the Innovation Park of the city of Illkirch Graffenstaden near Strasbourg (France). The program will include inspiring speeches and keynotes, including from ISU, in the morning and round table discussions – on four different subtopics – in the afternoon.
Do not miss this unique opportunity to meet and exchange with renowned experts of the French and European space industry as well as with many young space enthusiasts at ISU!
Check the event webpage on the SGAC website and register before 31st March 2022.
Looking forward to welcoming you at ISU central campus!
