The Talent and Society program of the NewSpace Strategy promotes activities aimed at the recruitment, generation, and retention of all the talent that has capabilities for developing solutions in the NewSpace field.
The International Space University (ISU) organizes the Space Studies Program (SSP) that offers an excellent development experience for the final stages of higher education students to access the professional world in the field of space economy and space industry.
The SSP receives the support of the European Space Agency (ESA), and it is an intensive nine-week course that provides courses in all space disciplines and hands-on education through workshops and professional visits. During the SSP, participants work on team projects to address current and future projects in the space sector.
The 35th edition will take place in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil from 26 June to 25 August 2023. In the framework of the Talent and Society program goals, the Generalitat de Catalunya and the IEEC offer 3 scholarships (NewSpace Catalonia Scholarships), in addition to the ones that ISU already offers. Altogether, the scholarships will cover almost the whole SSP23 fees for three candidates. All tuition, housing, and meals are included during the 9 weeks of the program.
Candidates for the NewSpace Catalonia scholarship need to meet the following eligibility requirements:
-To have completed at least 3 years of university studies by the start of the SSP.
-Currently studying for a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Catalonia or having just graduated.
-Good knowledge of English.
-To include in the ISU application motivation essay your interest in the NewSpace strategy in Catalonia (minimum 250 words).
Candidates should also meet the ISU eligibility requirements, and follow the ISU selection procedure. Applications should be submitted before 15 March 2023 at https://www.isunet.edu/ssp/.
Candidates selected for the NewSpace Catalonia Scholarship will be notified together with the communication from the ISU of the students accepted in the SSP course.
