The Aerospace Corporation has confirmed at the occasion of the 39th Space Symposium held in Colorado Springs (USA) its sponsorship of the International Space University’s (ISU) flagship program, the Space Studies Program 2024 (SSP24), set to be held in Houston (USA). The program will be hosted by Rice University in collaboration with NASA’s Johnson Space Center. The SSP is renowned for its comprehensive curriculum that includes technical and non-technical aspects of space exploration.
As a leading nonprofit research and development center based in El Segundo, California, The Aerospace Corporation provides indispensable technical guidance across all sectors of space missions. Their clients range from the United States Space Force (USSF) and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) to civil agencies like NASA and NOAA, and even extend to international governments and organizations.
This “Silver” level sponsorship confirms the company’s longstanding commitment to fostering educational opportunities in space science and engineering and in particular the strong and historical relations with ISU. Notably, The Aerospace Corporation is home to numerous ISU alumni – Dava Newman, Mark Skinner, Catrina Melograna, Benjamin Shapiro, Angie Bukley, Josefina Morales, Brian Weeden, and many more including distinguished individuals like ISU MBA alum, Board of Trustee member and Masters’ lecturer Audrey L. Allison, a Senior Space Policy analyst at the corporation.
Audrey Allison commented on the new partnership, stating:
“We are thrilled to support the International Space University’s Space Studies Program, which has been a launching pad for many of our team members. Our involvement in SSP24 not only reflects our commitment to nurturing future space leaders but also strengthens our ties with a community dedicated to advancing global space initiatives.”
ISU’s Acting President, Prof Nicolas Peter, expressed gratitude towards The Aerospace Corporation:
“The renewed sponsorship from the Aerospace Corporation will make a difference to our SSP24 program that will be the largest ever with more than 150 participants on site. Having the trust of this organization, where many International Space University alumni work, underscores the significant impact our dedicated alumni community can have on the next generation of space professionals and for the benefits of sponsoring organizations.”
