Congratulations to International Space University (ISU) Space Studies Program SSP21 alumnus Francesco Ventre and his startup Walle Mobility for winning the prestigious ANGI Prize – the Innovation Oscar in the category “Mobility & Smart City”.
Walle Mobility is an innovative startup based in Brescia (Italy) founded in the May of 2021 by a group of professionals. The company’s objective is to become the first “Air shuttle” (VTOL aircraft) operator in Italy to transport goods and passengers. Thanks to agreements with the aircraft manufacturers and other actors in the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) sector, Walle is building an ecosystem to enable fast, cheap and green transport by using the “third dimension”. This will free urban areas from traffic congestion, improving at the same time cargo transport efficiency.
«After being featured by the ENAC (National Civil Aviation Authority) in the “Strategic National Roadmap AAM (2021-2030) for the development of the Advanced Air Mobility in Italy” as an emerging company of the sector and being awarded the first prize in the 2021 edition of the “IoMOBILITY Awards”, – said Francesco Ventre, CEO of the company -, Walle gains today another prestigious award that certifies not only its innovativeness but the
operational capacity to create the future mobility ecosystem in Italy “.
«We are thrilled to have given this special recognition to this success story – commented the president of ANGI, Gabriele Ferrieri -, which stood out for its high technology and design value. Supporting young people and their talent is our daily mission and we are honored to witness these wonderful stories from the great community of young Italian innovators ».
The mission of the ANGI Prize is to award the best Italian innovators, building a dream team of Italian excellence, connecting institutions and corporates with start-ups. The Prize is promoted by the Associazione Nazionale Giovani Innovatori (National Association of Young Innovators), under the high patronage of the European Parliament and the European Commission.
The determination and perseverance of Francesco and his colleagues will no doubt take Walle to new heights. ISU and its incubator center wish their startup to turn into a sustainable and prosperous business in the years to come!
